In its third year, the PA / NJ Sustainability Symposium bills itself as an event that “brings together industry, education and community leaders to share best practices, ask challenging questions and provide cutting edge information about sustainability in the Delaware Valley.”
The conference will be held at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, March 12th from 7:45 am to 1:30 pm. In addition to interesting keynote speakers, the Symposium includes 24 educational sessions consisting of eight tracks with three one-hour sessions each:
- “Community”: Triple Bottom Line Businesses, Green Schools, Sustainability Communities
- “Big Things”: Big Manufacturers, Big Owners, Big Users
- “Yo, What’s Up Philly?”: University Green, Sports Stadium, Cultural Institutions
- “Power Up”: Electricity 101, Utilities and the Grid, Energy Sources and Uses
- “Decoding Green”: Green Building Rating Systems, Codes and Disclosure Mandates, LEED v4
- “Cutting Edge Technology”: Metering and Automation, Your Home, Electric Vehicles
- “Resource Management”: Natural Gas, WRF: Waste, Trash and Fuel, Green Infrastructure
- “Building the Business Case”: Corporate Sustainability, Incentives and Funding Sources, Case Study: Empire State Building
Although registration is scheduled to remain open through March 5th, last year registration closed once they reached capacity, as more than 600 people signed up. Check it out.

Thanks for sharing – last year over 635 folks attended and with an expanded lineup of all star speakers we are very excited to be at Temple Univ on 3-15 this year given Greenbuild coming to Philly in Nov. 2013. Hope to see you at the event.
